Art Alternatives Pre-stretched Canvas

Art Alternatives Pre-stretched Canvas in every size you can imagine is the perfect base for your next painting. From the Itty Bitty Canvas to extra large, from basic to premium grade we have a canvas that will fit your needs. Natural, unbleached medium-weight cotton duck is stretched around specially designed, kiln-dried stretcher bars, and held in place with a flexible spline allowing these canvases to be painted on all four edges as well as the canvas surface. The surface is triple-primed with acid-free acrylic titanium gesso and staple-free on the sides.

Art Alternatives Canvas Panels present an economical and easily portable alternative to stretched canvas–great for students on the go. They are designed for use with all media, and are of archival quality. The 7 oz. canvas is 100% cotton, triple primed with acrylic gesso and securely glued to a 100% recycled, acid-free board. All canvas sides wrap around and are secured in place on the back side. The convenient label provides an area to identify the artist, title, medium, etc.

Art Alternatives Wood Panels are made of basswood plywood, these wood art panels require no surface preparation and are ready to accept grounds for oils, acrylics, egg tempera, encaustic and other painting media. Available in 3/16″ and 1/2″ profiles. The 3/16″ profile features a sturdy, cross-braced 3/4″ pine cradle.

Art Alternatives Fiberboard Panels are made from untempered wood fiber, these medium-density fiberboard panels require no surface preparation and are ready to accept grounds for oils, acrylics, egg tempera, encaustic and other painting media. Fredrix Green Label Canvas is made with 100% Pure Belgian linen. It is a fine, pure medium weight canvas, with a pronounced texture and acrylic titanium double-primed with acid-free smooth ground for use with oils or acrylics. Hardbord accepts all types of commercial and handmade gesso grounds.

Ampersand Aquabord is a clay coated hardboard panel that gives watercolorists unprecedented freedom and control. Comparable to watercolor paper, this multimedia panel simulates the absorbency and texture of cold pressed but allows color to be lifted back to white easily while also leaving the richest, most vibrant color possible.
